As much as we love inviting you into our beautiful restaurant to wine and dine you like the king or queen you are, The Morrison Bar & Oyster Room’s philosophy to showcase quality local produce extends beyond our tables and into your homes.

Our Culinary Director chef Sean Connolly shares with us his delicious Piccalilli Relish recipe. Quick and easy, packed full of fresh vegetables with flavours of the east – just in time for Christmas!

Xmas Gifts for the Sydney Citizen

Skip the queue – how to get on the NICE list next year…

We are at that time of year when we give into the social pressure and dip into our pockets to spend a little on our loved ones.

Not to be dramatic, but no longer can you get away with buying your brother bulk pairs of socks and I’m pretty sure Mum still has the bath bombs you bought her back in 2014… So if you’re looking to buy gifts for the person who has everything, then why not think outside of the (gift) box and buy them a Sydney experience – after all, we live in one of the most vibrant and exciting cities in the hemisphere!

This Christmas season, we’ve got you covered! Here’s our Top 5 gifts for the Sydney Citizen:

  1. Gift 2: THE FOODIE. It’s no secret that at The Morrison we LOVE seafood and encourage foodies and amateur chefs alike to get cooking! The Sydney Seafood School has a cracking curriculum of cooking classes, from Mediterranean style to Singapore Chilli Mud Crab. The Morrison wins Best Promotional Concept

On the evening of Tuesday 29th November 2016, the annual Australian Hospitality Awards took place at the glamourous STAR casino in Sydney.

The prestigious awards ceremony recognises the hard work and achievements of the hospitality industry across the state of NSW, and those who’ve dedicated their careers to their colleagues and customers.

The Morrison Bar & Oyster Room was very excited to be nominated as a finalist in two categories: Best Promotional Concept (Oyster Festival 2015) and Best Restaurant City. As well as our Operations Manager Jeffrey John, being named as one of the 13 finalists in the Rising Star category.

Safe to say, it was tough competition! Across both categories we were up against incredible venues such as Watson’s Bay Boutique Hotel, Coogee Bay Hotel, The Dolphin Hotel and Bellevue Dining. All finalists were worthy of winning their respective category, so it was an amazing honour to hear our venues name being announced as the winner of the Best Promotional Concept for our Oyster Festival 2015 concept.
