Beers & Bivalves

Beer and oysters…perhaps not a conventional duo. But when you’re invited to spend a (work) day at a brewery mashing beer with oysters, it’s hard to resist. And as it turns out, they pair pretty well. For the second year running we’ve teamed up with our friends at Young Henrys to bring a very special limited edition beer to The Morrison in celebration of our annual Oyster Festival (1-31 August).

A BEER BREWED WITH OYSTERS, THE LOW-DOWN

Introducing the Rockefella Gosean oyster gose with cracked coriander seeds. Light & refreshing with a sour edge, this oyster brew is surprisingly complex. Using acidulated malt, there is a subtle tartness on both the nose and the front of the tongue to begin. A decent whiff of coriander follows, as does a hit of salinity – thanks to the 40 shucked oysters that were boiled in the wort kettle. A rounded maltiness, supplied by southern German lager yeast lingers on the finish and leaves you wanting more.

This moreish mouth puckerer is perfect alongside rich seafood (ie. oysters) and is available on tap exclusively at The Morrison for one month only. Join us for a shucking good time throughout Oyster Festival.
