Get Your Bar Cart Ready For Negroni Week

A statement piece all homes should have, a bar cart! With Negroni Week creeping up on us, we have been lucky enough for Campari to lend us a beautiful gold rustic cart for the next few weeks so we can make all our delicious negroni’s right in front of you, at your table! BOOM!

But if you can’t join us for Negroni Week we thought we would put together a few steps on how to bring to life a super cute cocktail bar in the comfort of your own home? Dreammmmy!

STEP 1: The Cart

Firstly, we use the word ‘cart’ very loosely, you by no means have to go out & purchase one. It’s time to get creative…all you need is a surface that is reasonably flat in your house that can hold bottles, glassware & ice all at the same time. If a cart is not in budget try out these few ideas; a bookshelf, let’s be honest you don’t need all those books in life your right now…donate them. Alternatively, a dresser, the stairs, any coffee table or just something with a flat surface & a tray placed on top of it.How to build an epic bar cart for negroni weekStep 2: The Basics

In the spirit of Negroni Week I will be covering off the basic’s on how to set up to make the best god damn classic negroni you could ask for! But everyone’s tastes & preferences are different so I would recommend having at least 3 different bottles/spirits on your bar cart at any one time, just to keep all options open for your future visitors.

  • Gin

This is so personal! But we do have a few favourites including Tanquerary Gin “back in the 1830’s Charles Tanqueray was not afraid to mix up brave ideas in his own unique style. He invented a gin recipe that is still celebrated to this day. The perfect mix of ingenuity, heritage and hard work.”

  • Campari

No negroni isn’t complete with the famous Campari. The secret recipe…”Campari has always been a symbol of intrigue and pleasure when it comes to aperitifs. The intense aroma and inspiring flavour creates a captivating and unique drinking experience.”

  • Sweet Vermouth

We can definitely recommend a few in this department; Martino & Rosso is a excellent middle of the range vermouth that won’t hurt your bank account. If you feel like going all out on the other hand take a look at, Antica Carpano.

Do I need to say more? Sort this out & make sure you don’t forget. It is often over looked at home but who likes a warm drink..?! Yeah no one.

Step 4: The Tools

Get your hands on the tools of the trade for better mixing so you can impress your guests & friends with a perfectly balanced cocktail.

  • Cocktail shaker (hey, even two plastic cups taped together will get the job done) and/or a mixing glass
  • Jigger or shot glasses
  • Muddler
  • Vegetable peeler/knife (for citrus zest)

Step 5: The Niceties

This is your time to shine! Jazzy up your bar cart with your personal flare & style. Add those extra flowers, fruit (would recommend lots of lemons & limes), extra bottles of spirits & all the styling pieces you please. How to build an epic bar cart for negroni weekStep 6: Test Drive!
